I had no idea that pigeons could make nests, but then I guess, I've never pondered about his until a few days ago... That is when a pigeons' couple began to build theirs on one of my semi-sheltered window.
You see the old lady living across the road has been feeding pigeons for a while now, so that many of them have gathered in the gap between her house and mine. It made me cringe at first, but then I have come to realize the pigeons were somewhat bringing her the little joy of some company as pets do...
Only they have begun to colonize their surroundings and it looks like two of them have found the perfect nesting location on a window where the shutters are resting on the catch... I hardly open them since that window lightens a storage room where I keep papers and others things that I don't want to be exposed to much sunlight...
When I first noticed the beginning of the works, I thought I'll dislodge the birds, then I began to watch them discretly and closely.
I called my daughter in to witness the birds' comings and goings and she came up with that sharp remark :
- you see how the male bird shares the shores with the female, amazing to see birds do what humans don't!!!
The female pigeon is very dove looking, half of the feathers are white she almost looks like a pigeon version of a dalmatian... Her partner is so very committed to look for twigs for the nest, and she is so very devoted to the arrangement of the twigs...
Well guess what ? I've decided I could not kick them out of the window ledge... I just can't.
